Observance Day
Commonwealth Games

Each year the British Friends of Vanuatu nominates one ni-Vanuatu national visiting or living in the United Kingdom, to represent the Republic of Vanuatu at Westminster Abbey for the magnificent Commonwealth Observance Day ceremony.  The nominated representative joins with other young people, each carrying their nations flag in the presence of members of the royal family and the British government.

The association also assists Vanuatu nationals, typically by providing or arranging accommodation to allow attendance at other Commonwealth events which may from time to time be organised in the United Kingdom.  In 2002 the Vanuatu national team visited Manchester to participate in the Commonwealth Games.
